Sports can add another dimension to your weight loss diet

Top sports for weight loss diets

Every weight loss diet has its tough spots especially if it is something your are doing on your own.

However, loneliness from running alone, boredom from sticking to the treadmill at the gym or restlessness from doing yoga in your living room can be reduced by adding fun and camaraderie to your routine.

Swapping some solo activities for team enterprises – or just finding the time to fit them in among your solitary undertakings – can add a level of support and motivation that you may not find in an unaccompanied exercise plan.

Playing a game of tennis can give you a great cardio workout as well as put your legs and arms through their paces. Tennis rackets and balls can be hired at most clubs for your convenience.

Cycling with a group is also good for the heart and body, but of course you will also need more specialised equipment such as a bike, helmet and safety gear.

Basketball and netball focus on short, quick movements combined with accurate ball skills, which can benefit your heart and mind. Plus they add a few extra people into the mix and can build up your ability to work as part of a team.

Because most of these activities are outdoor-based, remember to cover up with sunscreen and a hat for skin protection.
